U-15’s make it 3 wins from 3 outings

Oldcastle 5-20 Blackhall Gaels 5-2

The early Sunday morning (1 Oct.2017) drive up the M3 to Batterstown was made worthwhile as the Under 15’s made it 3 wins from 3 in this high scoring game. Jack Murphy opened the scoring with a well taken point which was followed by a Pearse Sheridan score. Blackhall Gaels opened their account with a well taken goal to take the lead. This would be the only time the home side were in front as Oldcastle replied with scores from James McCluskey, Pearse Sheridan and Jack Murphy. Despite missing a number of regulars in the backs, the Oldcastle defence were doing well Conor Boylan Dj Monaghan and Jp Purcell cutting out a number of attacks and some great surging runs forward from wing back from Kane Cullen who was playing his first under 15 game. James McCluskey scored Oldcastle first goal just before the break to leave the half time score Oldcastle 1-16 Blackhall Gaels 2-1.

Blackhall Gaels scored an early second half goal however James McCluskey scored 2-1 to extend Oldcastle lead. James Tuite and Matthew Cahill were working well in attack and set up a number of scores for those around them. James McCluskey had goal on his mind and grabbed his 5th goal of the game as his effort from a 45 dropped short and ended up in the back of the net. A Darren Connell point was the final score in this very entertaining and high scoring game. A great team effort put Oldcastle on top of the table with 2 games remaining.
