U-21’s book their place in the final

Oldcastle 3-11 Dunderry 3-5

Oldcastle were first on the score sheet after Jason Scully converted a free following a foul on Conor Delaney. With Robbie Smith winning the Dunderry kick out, Stephen Lawless added another for Oldcastle. The sides traded converted frees with CJ Healy being on target for Oldcastle.
Dunderry got into the driving seat after they were awarded a penalty and placed the ball in the back of the net and quickly followed with their second goal. The pressure was on Oldcastle to reduce the deficit and Ronan Maguire sent over his first score of the day. Dunderry added a point from play to keep the lead.
Oldcastle looked to be getting back into the game with points from Smith, Maguire and Scully following good work from the Oldcastle defence. With two minutes to go to the break Dunderry struck again and earned their third goal of the day leaving 5 between the sides at half time.

Oldcastle looked to have all to do if they wanted to win this game, but a great comeback from the lads ensured the win. It was Dunderry who got the first score of the half but Oldcastle quickly responded with a point from Scully. A great run up the pitch from Scully allowed Maguire to get Oldcastle’s first goal which was much needed at this time.
Entering the last quarter of the game and still behind, Oldcastle’s work ethic didn’t drop and Conor Delaney was on the right end of a Scully free to bury the ball and bring the game to a draw. Oldcastle had the momentum going forward now and Healy added a third goal and Oldcastle pushed on from here. They added three more points in the closing stages, two from Scully and one from Healy to leave them six points clear at the final whistle.
