U19’s booked a final date with Gaeil Colmcille

Oldcastle 2-14 Skryne 0-08
A wet and windy Millbrook was the venue for last night‘s (22/11/2025) U19 Div. 2 semi-final between Oldcastle and Skryne. With conditions hampering the quality of football on display, both teams were slow to get a foothold in the game. Oldcastle chose to play with the wind at their back in the first half. Early scores from Mark Halpin, Ryan Halpin and Paul Hennessy gave Oldcastle the upper hand but Skryne kept in touch with two free kicks of their own. However Oldcastle would finish stronger with a streak of five unanswered points to close out the half.
Skryne struggled to take advantage of the wind in the second half, whereas Oldcastle seemed to find another gear. The crucial scores were two goals coming midway through the second half. The first was a penalty expertly dispatched by Pat Crawley. Then Mikey Timmons made an immediate impact off the bench with a poacher’s finish for the second goal. Some excellent game management from Oldcastle ensured Skryne could not mount a comeback.
They have now booked themselves a final date with Gaeil Colmcille on Sunday, 30 November in Dunganny at 1.00pm
