U-14’s win secures 3 way play-off
Oldcastle 4–17 Ballivor 6-5
Oldcastle knew a win would be enough to secure a 3 way play off place and they made no mistake with another good performance despite the winter like conditions in the U-14 Summer FL played, Monday 25 July 2016 in Millbrook. Playing with the wind Oldcastle raced into the lead and never looked back as they were in total control in the first half to leave the score Oldcastle 3-13 Ballivor 0-2 at half time.
The second half started like the first with a Colin Halpin goal and with possibility of having to play 4 games in 7 days the bench was emptied to ensure fresh legs for the coming matches. Ballivor added some late goals but Oldcastle can now look forward to a round 1 play off against St Marys in Millbrook on Wednesday evening.
