U-14’s make it 3 wins from 3 outings in the Football League

Oldcastle 7-10 Clann na nGael 5-2
Our U-14’s continued their winning streak in the Div. 4 Spring League with a good victory over Clann na nGael this evening (26 April 2018) at Millbrook. A dream start from the opposition saw them put 1-01 on the scoreboard without reply, before a Ryan Kevin point opened Oldcastle’s account. That settled the lads and they steadily caught up with then surpassed the Athboy lads. Goals from Rian Mulvanny, Eoin Muldoon, Eoin Smith and Ryan Kevin saw the half time score: Oldcastle 4-05, Clann na nGael 2-01.

The opposition made an attempt at a comeback in the second half, with two goals within a minute shortly after play resumed, but once again our lads steadied and took control. Brian Hetherton and Ciaran Connell were rock solid in defence, and Eoin Smith was superb at mid-field. Fionn McCabe, Kane Cullen and Alan Gilsenan put in good work this evening, as indeed did the whole team.

Three wins out of three leaves us top of the table, with an away match to Wolfe Tones next up on Thursday 10th May.
