U-12s OFF TO WINNING START

Oldcastle 0-13 Ballinlough 0-5

Our U-12s kicked off their Spring League with a good win over Ballinlough, on a chilly but dry evening in Millbrook (30 March 2017). Rian Mulvanny was first on the scoreboard, indeed taking the first three scores for the home side. Paul Hennessy and Fionn McCabe soon added to the tally. All the while Prionsias O’Reilly was doing a good job in goals. The backs worked hard to get ball upfield, and when it found speedy Jamie Keatinge he took some lovely scores. A low ball in to Adam Smith saw him duck under and around his man in one move, kick with the next and take a fine point, with Karolis Abratis completing the scoring for Oldcastle.
A good steady performance in their first match of the season bodes well for the year, and hopefully our two lads Rory Crawley and Jamie Pakenham make speedy recoveries from their (non-football related) injuries, get well soon lads!
