U-12s continue winning ways
Oldcastle 0-15 Carnaross 0-9
Our U-12s recorded a great win away to Carnaross tonight (24 March 2016) in the Spring Football League (Group G) giving them 2 wins out of 2. Ryan Kevin kicked off the scoring for Oldcastle, before the opposition nudged their way up to 3. That was to be their last time ahead on scores though, as a good block from Ciaran Connell got the ball to Cormac O’Connell for a score, Cormac then took another score before Ryan Kevin added one more from a free. Colm Gibson chipped over a nice free, while Tomas Kizelis scored the last of the first half to leave it 6 – 3 to Oldcastle at half time.
Oldcastle kicked off the second half with a lovely score after a nice piece of play involving Eoin Smith, Cormac O’Connell, Cameron O’Reilly and Brian Hetherton. Eoin slotted over a free, then Rory Crawley took two lovely points in succession. J.P. Purcell claimed the next score. Carnaross were also playing well and getting the scores in, but Oldcastle kept up the work-rate, with Lloyd Colleran and Fionn McCabe keeping the balls coming in. More good points from Tomas Kizelis, Rory Crawley, Brian Hetherton and Ryan Kevin left the final score 15 – 9 to Oldcastle.
Some great performances and team work on show tonight.
