Na Fianna take the points in the Div 1 encounter

Hopefully Oldcastle won’t be desperate for two points come the end of the Div 1 A League, as they will definitely feel they left them behind on the pitch in Enfield this afternoon (19 May 2019). A poor start saw Na Fianna build an early lead, which they never relinquished. They should probably have lost the man responsible for a desperate tackle on Cian McPartland, but the perpetrator stayed on the pitch. Na Fianna were a big physical side, and were able to make runs and create space for themselves, making Oldcastle keeper Packie Kevin work hard throughout. Dylan Garrigan and Lee Healy got Oldcastle on the scoreboard, before Robbie Farrelly took two nice points, but was unlucky to see another come off the crossbar. The half-time score was Na Fianna 2-05, Oldcastle 0-06.
The second-half started promisingly with a fine point from Keith Connell, and bar one near the restart, Oldcastle kept the opposition scoreless for a good portion of the half. Robbie Farrelly added two to bring Oldcastle within three points of the opposition. Oldcastle were playing well and putting in the effort, but a combination of bad luck and poor finishing meant they just couldn’t bridge the gap and finish it out, while Na Fianna finally got going again and topped up their side of the scoreboard.
