Impressive Dublin see off Westmeath

Dublin sent out a marker to all the other teams in the Gerry Reilly U-16 FT with an impressive winning display over Westmeath on Sunday afternoon in Millbrook, Oldcastle. They had wind advantage in the opening half and they dominated in producing scoring chances. By the 10th minute Dublin had registered 1-2 (including a Simon Murphy goal). It was not until the 14th minute that Westmeath had their first score, after a brilliant move down the field. Westmeath got their second score of the half in the 25th minute, while Dublin were creating and making good use of their opportunities.

Dublin moved up another gear on the re-start with a point from a free by Joe Leech, and goals from Sean Guiden and Conor Chawke, There was simply going to be no way back for Westmeath, though they never gave up.
Great football by Dublin on the day and played at great pace.
