Great home win for U-12’s

Oldcastle 0-18 Ballinlough 0-4
Our U-12’s put up an impressive display against Ballinlough in Millbrook this evening. Our neighbours started well and were ahead after ten minutes, before the Oldcastle lads settled into the game. Ryan Halpin, Mark Cadden, Rory Crawley and Alex Curran all registered on the scoreboard in the first half, including a great ball from Rory way out the field which hopped over the goalie’s head.
With the score Oldcastle 6, Ballinlough 4 as the second-half started, it really was all one-way traffic from then then. Mark Cadden took the first for Oldcastle. Lucas Skelly was minding his goals well, while Thomas Sheridan, James Gibney and Padraig Lynch were defending to the hilt. Jack Smith and Oliver Hjert were working hard outfield all the while. A good Lucas save was brought upfield by way of Pat Crawley, on to brother Rory and then to the waiting Alex Curran who took his score.

A nice ball from Ryan Halpin, on to Adam Smith, back to Ryan, back to Adam, o n to Mark Cadden and back to Adam again, resulted in the next. The lads were cruising now and clocking up the scores with abandon, and the Ballinlough lads were tiring after playing school football earlier today.  A lovely ball from Adam Smith moved on to Pat Crawley who gave it a perfect fist-pass over the Ballinlough defender and on to Rory who scored. Ben Sorohan took the next score with style, followed by a couple more from Adam Smith and the final point of the evening from James Gibney.  A good team performance ensured the final score: Oldcastle 18, Ballinlough 4.

The next match is at 2pm this Saturday 5th May against Drumconrath/Meath Hill at Millbrook.
