Good performance from the U-13’s in Celbridge

Oldcastle 8-05, Celbridge: 5-01
Our U-13s had a good away win over Celbridge today in rd.2 of the Leinster Cross-County League. Many of the lads sat their three-hour entrance exam for secondary school this morning so no doubt were delighted to be outside again!
On a bright but cold day, Ryan Kevin got the opening point for Oldcastle, soon followed by an Eoin Smith goal. Kealan Swinburne had his first spell in goals in this half and has the makings of a great goalie. Eoin Muldoon got a nice ball in to Rory Crawley for the next goal, before Muldoon bagged the next goal himself. Defence were working hard and making life tough for the opposition. Rory added another goal and Ryan another point to leave the half time score Oldcastle 4-02, Celbridge 1-00.

Jamie Keatinge got the second half going with a nice goal. Celbridge started attacking more and took some goals, but Rory Crawley bagged another goal for Oldcastle, with J.P. Purcell adding points and Tomas Kizelis getting a super goal near the end.

The lads were much improved today and took their scoring chances.  Overall a good performance, and we look forward to taking on Maynooth next week in Millbrook.
