Dublin power to victory with a masterful second half display

Dublin 4-17 Wicklow 0-10
It was very much a game of 2 halves with the strong wind on the day, Wicklow were playing with the wind in their backs for the first half of the Gerry Reilly U-16 FT Rd.3 game played on Saturday afternoon in Millbrook, Oldcastle and by the 21st minute, they led by 7 points (0-9 to 0-2).
Ruari Tompkins (related to Larry Tompkins) pointed for Wicklow in the first minute. Denis Smith got the equaliser for Dublin. Ruari Tompkins regained the lead with his second point only to be matched again by Dublin after a great move down the field. While Wicklow recorded 7 unanswered points next, Dublin were creating chances and were twice thwarted by the Wicklow ‘keeper.
H/T: Wicklow 0-10 Dublin 0-5
The second half was all Dublin and, who were now playing with the wind. They had moved up a gear and Matt Grogan’s goal gave them the lead for the first time (1-8 to 0-10). Denis Smith quickly followed up with Dublin’s second goal and there was going to be no way back for Wicklow.
Dublin kept on putting pressure on Wicklow while adding to their tally that included an own goal by Wicklow. They were simply too good for Wicklow in the second half and who  were held scoreless by Dublin .
