Dublin 6-7 Louth 0-9
Dublin had a lightening start to this Rd.1 game of the Gerry Reilly U-16 FT played on Thursday evening in Darver. Dublin’s Daniel Breenan opened the scoring with a fine point. This was quickly followed by a fisted point from Andrew Doolin. When Andrew Doolin got Dublin’s first goal, it was always going to be a tough battle for Louth. Louth were making plenty of attacks, but the Dublin defence were holding firm.
Louth got on the scoreboard with a point before Dublin got their second goal (Richie English).
Louth responded with points from Fearghal Malone (f) and Cian Brady. Points were exchanged before Danie Brennan got his second goal. Eoghan Callaghan got a point for Louth from a free just before the break. 6 scores to 5, but the goals made all the difference

Dublin started strongly again and registered 2 goals from Daniel Brennan and Andrew Doolin and it was going to be very difficult for Louth to respond. They did score 3 unanswered points by Cian Brady, Padraig Cunningham and Joseph Quinn to make the score 5-6 to 0-8.
James Madden got Dublin’s 6th goal before points were exchanged before the final whistle.
Overall a very strong performance from Dublin with both forwards and backs making it very difficult for Louth.
