Oldcastle never extended in win over st Vincent’s
Oldcastle 5-14 St.Vincent’s 0-4
Oldcastle remain strongly in the hunt for promotion after their powerful display against St. Vincents in R9 of Div 3 A-League played in a sunny Millbrook on Friday evening last.
The home side hit 1-2 within the first five minutes of the match before the visitors St. Vincents got on the score-sheet.
That score proved to be their only point of the first half, as Oldcastle proved too strong for the opposition by bagging 4-13 in the opening half. Peter Monaghan, CJ Healy and Jason Scully (2) claiming the goals in a half that demonstrated Oldcastle’s attack in true menace.
The visitors put in a spirited, stubborn performance in the second half however and limited Oldcastle’s movement of the scoreboard. St. Vincents sent over 3 points (2 f) while the home side bagged 1-1. A half very different from the first in terms of scoring but equally as entertaining in terms of both defences and individual battles taking spotlight.
